On May 23, Dr. Salim led a delegation to Cuba that included Deputy Minister of Defense, Abdulrahman Kinana and Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Christopher Luindi. During their visit they met with President Fidel Castro as well as General Raul Castro. Among matters discussed were the strong ties between Tanzania and Cuba as well as the ongoing challenges facing Africa.
