October 15, 1965 SAS was sworn in before President Mwalimu Nyerere at State House. While in India, Dr. Salim pursued his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of New Delhi. India is where Dr. Salim’s diplomatic career essentially began, hosting hundreds of guests, including many of Tanzania's prominent leaders, as well as attending national day events, and travelling throughout the country.
